| South West Food and Drink and the Guild of Fine Food are launching a speciality food and drink retail course in 2009. The course will have modules giving a broad and through grounding on products that are sold in your shops and intends to give all those in food retail an understanding of provenance, the processes involved in the foods and how their customers should serve and enjoy them. Modules include: • Cheese and dairy • Fresh meat • Fresh fish • Charcuterie • Preserves and honey, olives and olive oil • Tea, coffee, bread, cakes and biscuits • Beer, cider and perry • Starting a deli / business skills The course will train retailers, giving them the knowledge to talk enthusiastically about the products they sell, therefore, selling more and will improve staff retention for employers by increasing job satisfaction amongst your team.
