True Taste

The Guild of Fine Food ran the judging element of the Welsh Assembly Government’s True Taste Awards for four years.

The True Taste brand was created to promote the very best food and drink that Wales has to offer, a standard against which produce could be judged and evaluated.

From 2004 the Guild coordinated the mechanics of the entry system, the logistics of judging over 700 products and the robustness of the judging team. Using the skills of the Welsh Culinary Team to prepare the cooked product, the competition has consistently identified quality food and drink from across the sector.  The skills honed in its own Great Taste Awards meant that the Guild delivered a credible awards contributing to the profile of Welsh food and drink on a national and international stage.
