Lyme Regis cheesemonger to sell ice cream in Olympic torches

When the relay passes through Lyme Regis this week, everyone will be able to get their hands on the Olympic torch thanks to the Dorset resort’s Town Mill Cheesemonger.
The cheesemonger will be selling Mendip Moments ice cream and sorbet in edible 24-carat gold cones similar in shape to the torches. And at £9.95, they cost a fraction of what the real items are going for on eBay.
The golden torches, crafted by Lyme Regis’ Mermaid Gallery proprietor Linzi West (pictured with the prototype), are the cheesemonger's usual quality sugar cones, covered in fully edible 24-carat gold leaf.
