Patchwork has introduced a set of gift boxes for its ambient patés and chutneys, enabling retailers to assemble three-jar multi-packs based on the varieties that already sell best in their stores.
Three styles of box are available: one each for Patchwork’s Italian-recipe and Mediterranean-recipe paté-in-a-jar ranges and one for its recently launched chutneys.
The cartons are supplied flat-packed, so the retailer can assemble gift packs as needed and fill them from stock. “It means the customer can choose which of the jars they want to include,” said sales manager Sarah Williams, “and they can have some jars in gift boxes and some loose on the shelf.”
The gift packs will be available all year round at a cost of 50p each, but in the run-up to Christmas Patchwork is offering six free cartons with every three cases of 12 jars sold.
Trade price for its ambient patés is £2.15 for 190g, with an RRP of £2.99, while the chutneys cost £1.75 each. Patchwork suggests retailing the paté gift packs at £9.99 and the chutneys at £9.20.
Based in north Wales, Patchwork is best known for its award-winning frozen patés, made in small batches and supplied in a range of formats for sale from the freezer or, defrosted, from chillers and deli counters. It launched its first ambient “paté in a jar” in 2009 and now has three Italian and three Mediterranean recipes in this range. Four chutneys, all made with regional beers, were unveiled earlier this year.
