A newly opened distillery in Cambridge is offering the world’s first ‘gin tailoring’ service to consumers.
Unlike other gin producers The Cambridge Distillery – currently the smallest commercial operation in the UK – distils each botanical ingredient separately using a vacuum still.
These separate distillates are then mixed to create bespoke blends for customers, with each recipe developed from the results of a blind tasting session to establish what suits their palate best.
Following the tailoring sessions, which last from one to two hours, bottles are delivered direct to consumers’ doors with presentation boxes and a unique recipe card.
